Doing what I do best, making that couch my peaceful little cave of sleep. Saturday was a day full of napping.

Friday was spent eating too many chocolate dipped croissants and sushi (wait, you can never have too much of either of those things), and finishing up the project depicted in *~detail~* above for a craft swap. I also found some nice jeans at the mall but I didn't buy them because I have about $20 to my name at the moment. Neat, right?

My mother came home from Niagara Falls and brought this dress with her. For me. Cool!

Photo for August 20th, 2008 - Mmmm, Lush

Wednesday, I took a trip to Toronto with my dad and my sister. There was a little shindig going on down at one of the Lush stores, so my sister and I popped in for gift bags and general good smelling-ness. We received a sample of Ring of Roses buttercream soap, a Butterfly bath bomb and a Go Green solid perfume. All yummy, fresh floral smells. Then I played some trivia and won a second solid perfume, my choice of Fever. It smells very strongly of roses and jasmine. Very nice, but not for the faint of ... nose?

Afterwards I ate the most ridiculous piece of chocolate cake I have ever experienced, studied fantasy novel fans from a distance and danced in my chair to the Clash while eating Thai food - not in that order. All in all, a grand day.

Photo for August 19th, 2008 - America, Heck Yeah

On Tuesday I visited my friends to the South, the United States of America. The purpose of this trip was a common one - acquiring fashionable goods for low prices at the outlet malls of Niagara Falls. And acquire we did! We also ate some tofu teryaki in the food court and I accidentally mistook a bottle of shower gel for a bottle of body lotion! Ha ha, how not funny.
Anyway, we found a really nice store called Casual Male XL. I like stores specifically for specific people. i.e. Big and Tall Menswear, Tall Girl, Petite Something-or-other. So Casual Male XL fit right in. My sister decided to pose as one of their regular customers. I think she was quite believable.

And just for good measure, here's a photo of my dress.
Yes, my face gets blurry after a day in the U.S. Don't worry about it.

EDIT: For some reason, the photos won't click and enlarge in another window. If anyone knows how to solve this problem, let me know!

Monday was a day of pondering. Not deep, intellectual things but instead: fall fashion. Looking over two recent purchases it was made clear to me that I have a growing affinity for stripes. More will be acquired and added to the collection, trust me.

Photo for August 17th, 2008 - Or Lack Thereof

There was a photo for this day, I promise. It was a photo of a necklace I made. But I can't find it so apparently it is gone forever. Too bad. I remember trying to photograph the necklace and how tricky it was to get all close-up and macro because the darn thing was so tiny and intricate. So there's no photo that I took that day, and I'm terribly sorry. Sunday, August 17th was a very dull day as far as I can remember. I can't remember anything about it actually so ... I guess it's fitting that there's no photo.
Sorry!

On Saturday I saw the Dark Knight so I figured, what more fitting thing to take a photo of than um, the dark night.

UPDATE

I'm getting so backlogged, I'm terribly sorry. There are photos and they are coming.

On Friday I attended the funeral of my great aunt Doris. I don't have any clear memories of Doris because probably the only times I met her were when I was very young. Still, it was a very somber day but also a beautiful celebration of her life. When we arrived at the cemetery the sun came out and shone down on us as if she was saying, "I'm here, thanks for coming." It was a beautiful day and it's always interesting to meet members of your family you didn't even know you had. It's strange when you realize just how many people in the world you are connected to by blood.

Sometimes I get in funny moods where I do my hair and my make-up in the middle of the night for no reason other than because "it's fun".

Two days spent in Toronto with little sleep and lots of walking (my feet were actually bleeding when I got home!) meant that Wednesday would be a day of rest. It truly was. I slept until 5.30 pm.

I saw Step Brothers on Tuesday, and truly that was the highlight of the day. I look incredibly dull in this photo but whatever, I have (sort of) fulfilled my dream of being related in some way to Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, and that is fine with me.

I spent Monday on the sunny streets of Toronto with my sister. I think this photo encapsulates the day quite well in our bird forms. I'm the bigger bird, because my sister is short.

I decided to post this photograph I took of my dog, Franklin. One, because it's been a bit of a slow day, and two, because my dog is my pal and I like photos of him. You can't exactly see Frankie's cute little visage here, as he's a mad blur with head tilted back trying ever so furiously to attack his rawhide bone. He's usually a blur anyway, so this photo captures him quite well.

INTRODUCTION

Hello, my name is Hannah and this is my blog. I figure since I'm going to be posting photos from my life here and updating the general public (or whoever reads/views) about some of my comings-and-goings, I might as well ... introduce myself? In as effective a way you can e-introduce yourself.

Anyway, well. First things first, I don't by any means consider myself a "photographer". There are 3,058,435+ young people who consider themselves photographers because they own a camera phone and I am not one of them. I just like having evidence of my life. I like keeping mementoes. I am very sentimental. So, there's that. I don't know anything about photography and I'm not claiming to.

Other than that, I like baking, painting, and playing with puppies. I don't know what else to say ... hopefully the blog will speak for itself, or rather - myself.

So, until the first photo - adieu,
Hannah

PRELUDE

Herman's Hermits just came on the radio now, "Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter". I have something to say about this song. I am quite positive my earliest musical memory is of this song, as far back as I can remember this is the one that stands out. I was in a washroom in a grocery store, not sure how young I was, very young but old enough to be in a public washroom alone, so I don't know 6,7,8? Anyway this song was playing over the P.A. system and I just got it stuck in my head, I just remember hearing this and looking at the tiles of the floor and then not hearing the song for a very long time. And now every time I hear it I see bathroom tile floors from a grocery store that isn't open anymore.
